Shirley has been in the insurance industry sixty-eight years - fifty-six on the agency side, and thirty-seven as an agency owner/executive. She holds CPCU, AAI, CPIW designations, and a Professional Development accreditation from Insurance Institutes and CPCU Society. Through the years, Shirley has attended as well as taught many insurance classes and seminars.

Shirley served as National President of the National Association of Insurance Women (NAIW), and the first woman ever to serve on the National Board of Trustees and Executive committee for the AICPCU (American Institute for Charted Property & Casualty Underwriters). Shirley served on the Examination Committee for the Insurance Institutes for 19 years. She was proudly named the “Insurance Woman of the Year” by Region VIII, NAIW in 1974 and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 1996.

In 2002, Shirley decided to spend more time with family and concentrate on VIP accounts. At that time, she turned over management operations of her agency, C & S Insurance, choosing to partner with Insurance Center Associates. Shirley remains one of our most respected advisors.
